Jakarta, June 25, 2021 – Anthemic indie-rock quartet lightcraft have been around for 16
years now. Such longevity is quite rare in the modern music industry, yet here they are still
plugging away. Their recipe? Hope.

lightcraft are an anomaly. A band that are so in touch with their inner hopefulness, some
say that they are more naïve than hopeful. But then again, there is no life without hope.
And it is hope that has become the focus on the band’s brand-new single “Life”, the first to
be released from their upcoming as-yet-untitled fourth full album.

One of several songs written by lightcraft’s chief songwriter and vocalist Imam Surataruna
during a time of contemplation as the pandemic continues to rage on, “Life” is an honest
reflection on the band’s – and each member’s – journey; one that has been fraught with
anxiety, self-doubt, and internal conflicts. “It’s the embodiment of our collective hope on
our future as a band and as human beings. We’re four men in our 30s, but we still want to
make a difference, make music, and do what makes us feel happy. We’ve accepted that
because we still have hope, and we want to live with hope,” says Imam.

The message behind “Life” is simple: keep believing, keep hoping, and take back control of
your life. Regardless of your current situation and condition, your life is yours to lead and
yours to make better.

Produced by Iqbal MSSVKNTRL, “Life” evokes the sound of the 1980s yet firmly entrenched
in the here and now, ripe with saccharine synth lines and mesmerising arpeggios that would not sound out of place in a Pet Shop Boys track or a The Weeknd single. Every single note and melody sounds fresh and reinvigorating, from guitarist Fari Febrian’s chorus-laden riffsand licks to Imam’s trademark energetic vocals. This is the sound of a band that have found their mojo back and are ready to start a new chapter.

“Without wanting to reveal anything, ‘Life’ is a song that shows where we are musically at
the moment. We’re pushing the boundaries, trying new things, and keeping an open mind.
‘Life’ is just the beginning,” Fari remarks.

To be released under Wander Digital Music, “Life” will be available on all digital music
streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, JOOX, Resso, and more on June 25,
2021.

The official music video to “Life” will be unveiled shortly after the song’s release.
